Curious or genuinely interested?
Curious or genuinely interested?
I would say the second applies to me but who is willing to admit that he or she is genuinely curious?
Whereas I would say either way isn't a bad way. It just shows that you still are interested in things outside of your own comfort zone. I'm for sure not loving everyone but that doesn't mean that I'm not interested. Sometimes it's the fascination or maybe even malicious joy and on other occasions it could be empathy, learning from others, thinking outside of the box.
As long as you are acting in a kind way no one will feel laughed at or not taken seriously so is no harm you're doing.
Humans in general are interesting and fascinating in many different ways. This whole big game of action and reaction is not only interesting for psychologists, no, it's even helpful to look at myself. Why are we doing what, why are we feeling served, disappointed, cheated on, etc. Many things just happen because we are thinking in the wrong way, about ourselves or about others. Why should a stranger think something about me, like e.g. "How is she walking" - there are two options why we think that, either we know we are walking quite different compared to others or we don't feel confident in walking which could have thousands of reasons. So who's problem is it, in the end ours. If we want to avoid these thoughts we have to work on ourselves. Work doesn't mean you have to change your style, it could as well just mean we don't care any more about what others may think.
So back to the topic, I love being curious as this is one of the free things in human learning. You don't have to pay a penny to learn from others behavior.
Be keen, enjoy life and grab as many input as you can get - it doesn't harm, it just shows us different options and we may adopt a few and neglect others and that's fine.
Faith in yourself is the greatest thing you can earn,
Miss Faith
Wedding DIY
Here's just a bit of what I prepared up to now for our upcoming wedding.
Handkerchiefs for happy tears
Small tags to hang in a tree (we celebrate in a garden)
A sign for the guestbook
The motto of the day
Our menu cards
Seat cards
I'm more than keen now to see it all on its place - pics of the real wedding decoration will for sure follow.
Take care!

Why the heck...
Why the heck...
...do good movies start in the middle of the night
...does a white denim require washing after once worn
...does it rain during the weekend although the whole week was sunny
...is the chocolate empty whenever you would need it most
...is a helicopter circling above my area in the middle of the night
...is it colder in my flat than outside
...is not everyone talking proper english
...is my work to do list getting longer each day although I'm working
...can't I put everything in the tumble dryer without shrinking
What "why the heck"s do you have?
Slowly calming down - don't lose hope,
Miss Faith

How to be a good couple?
How to be a good couple?
A good partner doesn't make a good couple.
Two persons are able to become one but it's work!
What I realize every now and then is that we both need to look in the same direction, at least for the main parts of our life together.
Sure we will always be two unique persons and we don't need to have the same hobbies but we should have to have the same goal - growing old and wrinkle together.
You don't see too many good couples although they surely exist and the main reason is that they act normal. They don't talk about it in either way, good or bad, they do live.
Comparing yourself with other couples is the start to ruin your relationship as we are talking about humans, what's right for someone hasn't be the right choice or way of life for someone else.
The most important as a couple is to be happy with one another, not with people outside, not with family members or with whoever wants to step in.
A relationship is a couple thing, it hasn't to be a public topic on how it should be.
I even think that it would be boring for people outside to listen to couple stories, discussion, or fights about their relationship as these moments are intimate, unique and they only belong to these two persons.
If you two go along like you want a relationship to be then it's perfect!
Stay loving your life,
Miss Faith

Being able to spend time alone...
Being able to spend time alone...
...is so very important. A full schedule every day of the week just because you are not able to cope with yourself cannot be healthy. It's essential to know how to spend time alone and to cherish these times. Regardless of sitting on the couch and watch weird things on TV or reading a good book, just being alone shows us that we are we and only if we can be happy with ourselves we will be able to make others happy. I love it from time to time to do only things for me and these things can be thousands of different situations. Reading while eating lots of chocolate, listening to music on an open window with the sun on my face, not talking, not even picking up the phone for two hours. Your friends will still be there after three hours when you are in the mood to call them back.
Stay relaxed,
Miss Faith

What I Spend Money On
What I Spend Money On
Honestly, on too many things. And often on things I don't even would need but which give me the feeling of having a piece of luxury for my long working days and short free times. Food, as food is something where I seldom save money. If I want to eat a piece of beef fillet, I just buy it. I'm not eating it daily but if, then it has to be a good one. As women, and I'm pretty sure I am one, clothes, shoes, beauty stuff or something nice to decorate my flat and make it cosy is also something where I can spend lots of money.
Nowadays I try to take myself back as we need to plan a wedding and weddings let money vanish quickly. But during normal times there is always a certain piece of something which I haven't yet and which is needed desperately. Men can't understand that we need everything in different colors and shapes as they go along quite perfectly with a brown and a black pair of shoes and that's all they need. But think how stupid it would look like if I wear black shoes to a yellow dotted pink skirt. And the clutch in brown wouldn't fit either. Women do not have problems in buying all that stuff, it's more the men who are scared as they see their hard earned money going over the counter every time we wear something new. Luckily I'm a full time worker which means I don't have to rely on my husbands money and what's even more important I don't have to ask for permission.
Happy shopping, girls!
Take care, yours
Miss Faith

The third and last recipe of my cooking box test week
The third and last recipe of my cooking box test week
I really have to recommend www.kochabo.de
These guys have wonderful recipes and high quality food which they deliver - even for people new to cooking it's easy to follow and have a nice dinner.
The last recipe of the week was a Tomatoe-Ricotta-Tarte
I was already looking forward to cook it as I love tomatoes as well as ricotta cheese.
As side dish we had salad.
It's almost impossible to have a full dinner prepared quicker. Except of grating the Parmesan cheese and cutting the tomatoes nothing needs to be prepared upfront.
According to the recipe it was complete vegetarian but we changed it slightly and added bacon to have a bit of another taste inside.
Absolutely delicious!!! In less than half an hour everything was ready to be served.
And once again - if someone wants the full recipe, just let me know and I send it through.

The first time I prepared Tofu...
The first time I prepared Tofu...
...still cooking recipes from my cooking box test I went to the second recipe which was
stem cabbage radish vegetables with sesame tofu.
I like both, stem cabbage as well as radish, but the combination of them prepared with yoghurt, basil and lemon scoring was totally new to me. Tofu is something I never prepared before - it's getting a new thrill.
My sister already told me upfront that you need many spices for the tofu to have a taste in the end so I put more soya sauce than mentioned in the recipe to have it marinated.
Sesame added and fried in a pan it looked as delicious as on the picture I hot before.
The vegetables were prepared easily and after I filled the dishes it looked almost the same as on ten recipe picture.
What about the taste?
The vegetable itself was perfect, but the taste was not mine. I would have gone with simply salt pepper and a bit of cream, that would have been my personal taste.
And the completely new taste tofu - what should I say? It really looked delicious but tasted like nothing than sesame. Not even a bit of the soya sauce taste. This means a new challenge for the future - prepare it again and try to get more taste in - haha.
If someone is interested in the full recipe - just let me know and I will send it to you.
KR and a nice 1st May evening,
Miss Faith

...can be funny if its not too much. If you discover more than two of the following
10 reasons that prove that he still is a mummy's boy - run!!!
1. Whatever you cook, his mum is doing it better.
2. The display of his mobile shows a pic of his mum.
3. His sentences start with: "Mummy thinks...".
4. She is still cutting his toenails.
5. His fav movie is Forrest Gump.
6. He likes dresses which were trendy in the 70's.
7. He's Italian.
8. He's forgetting your anniversary but never Mother's Day.
9. If he has a cold his mum is moving in.

My first Bulgur-Vegetable-Salad
My first Bulgur-Vegetable-Salad
I have been chosen to participate in a cooking box test.
Not sure if "cooking boxes" are known everywhere but in Germany for instance you can order different kind of boxes filled with food for one to four persons and they have all the ingredients you need to cook certain recipes which are also included.
For the Germans here, my box was delivered by www.kochabo.de
I will add the recipe at the end of this post for those who may want to try it - it's so quick and easy and absolutely delicious.
The recipe itself is written in a way that even cooking starters are able to handle it.
To make it easier for myself I prepared everything upfront, means washing and cutting vegetables.
To keep oversight I didn't put all in one pot as the tomatoes for example had to be put in later than the other vegetables. But also keeping oversight as I'm usually not trying to document my cooking.
I was astonished by the quality of the food as I never got so much juice out of a lemon before, that means I can highly recommend this website, they deliver wonderful quality.
You have to add Ras el-Hanout and I had the impression that its quite a lot but trusted the writer of the recipe and they were right. All measures for the different ingredients should be kept to get such a delicious salad in the end.
Try it yourself (and it's completely vegetarian for those who don't eat meat).
Yummie,
Miss Faith
What do you need (2 persons):
- ca. 150 gr Bulgur
- 3 Tomatoes
- 2 green onions
- 1 carrot
- 1 red bell pepper
- 1 onion
- 1 small can of red kidney beans
- 1 soup spoon Ras el-Hanout
- parsley (fresh)
- 4 soup spoons lemon juice
- olive oil
- 325 ml water
- salt and pepper
How to do it:
1. Wash the tomatoes, remove the core and cut them into small pieces. Wash the green onions and cut them into small rings. Peel the carrot and cut it also into small pieces (no slices). The same for the red bell pepper, also cut it into small pieces as well as the onion. Squeeze the lemon to have the juice for later.
2. Heating up the oil in a pot and put in onions as well as the vegetables (except of tomatoes and beans). Steam them for 3 minutes. Open the can of beans, wash and dry them. Now add the bulgur to the vegetables in the pot and steam for another 2 minutes while stirring. Now you can add the Ras el-Hanout, beans and tomatoes.
3. Pour the water in the pot, add salt and pepper, and boil it shortly while stirring. Then cover the pot and let it soak on the lowest flame for 15-20 minutes.
4. In the meantime wash the parsley and cut it. As final step add lemon juice and parsley, add more salt and pepper if needed and ENJOY!

Loving DIY
Loving DIY
While planning a wedding I realized shortly that I love to create things myself.
I'm just now in the process of thinking about decoration and what to do how but the first two "projects" are done already.
One is a nice way to store my earrings, bracelets, etc. and just use them as wall decoration.
The other one is the seat cards for our guests.
Let's see during the next weeks what else I will do myself - I'll keep you updated.
Greetings from the DIY Miss Faith

The eyebrow shape
The eyebrow shape
Do you know how it is when you had your eyebrows shaped the same style for years and years and then you are trying to change it?
I'm just in the process for the x-th time, I can't even count any more how often I started it.
The main problem - at least for me - is that they start to grow naturally and I have the feeling as if there is something wrong in my face.
I feel each small tiny little hair and have the urge to plug it right away.
This is now the time to show myself how much self discipline I can have.
One good thing is that nowadays the beauty industry has lots of eyebrow pencils so that at least nobody will see the difference until its done. I can hide or cover up areas the way I like it.
The last I want is having additionally the feeling as if people are staring at me.
And again, this is the perfectionism I try to fight as I know exactly that nobody except of me is realizing anything so tiny in my face unless its their business and they work in the beauty area.
Call it weird but I'd rather be weird than not being how I want to be.
What are your beauty problems?
Stay safe,
Miss Faith

What I Would Say To My 20-Year Old Self?
What I Would Say To My 20-Year Old Self?
Now obviously this won’t work if you’re younger than twenty (although feel free to change the age to suit), but what would you advise yourself if you could go back in time? What mistakes, errors, decisions and more would you change if given the chance? Would you change at all?
I read the question some time ago in a magazine and pinned it down to think about it. What would I advise and would I do it at all? Was my life exactly like I wanted it to be so far or were there major mistakes, times I regret totally?
If I'm honest it wasn't always like I wished it would have been - I don't know if there are really persons who could say everything was perfect at any time. But on the other hand, even if there were times I never wish back, they made me the person I am today. Don't we have to make mistakes to discover ourselves? I think we have to as otherwise we would never be able to judge for ourselves what's right and what's wrong. Learning never was easy, so why should growing up be?
If it comes to every single emotional experience it was important to live it and feel it, even if it was painfully sometimes.
But what about style and fashion? In this case I would say to my 20-Year old self not to try out curly short hair, never cut it too short as you will regret it for sure. These fat heels were never nice even if people want to tell you this right now, don't buy them! Ah, and nobody needs a fake diamond on a front tooth, it may be hip for some but you just ruin your tooth.
And what about drinks and food? Here I would have also a few recommendations. Never have too much Ouzo, believe me, you can't stand it and will end up drinking liters of plain water as if you crossed the desert. On the other hand you are always staying away from cinnamon, this doesn't make sense as it will take just a few more years until you will love it, so why not to give the yummy taste a try right now?
As you see, I may be able to recommend and give some hints and tips but only about kind of unimportant things in life. If it comes to the seriously important experiences, we all have to go through them on our own and I would rather regret to beware my 20-Year old self of one of them than giving her the back up that everything will be all right in the end.
The 35-Year old can assure to the 20-Year old that the next fifteen years won't be all fun and easy going but they are worth it to move forward and stand up whenever you feel that you were knocked down by life.
Good luck and cheers from Miss Faith

Thinking about...documentaries
Thinking about...documentaries
... Documentaries....
Why are the most interesting ones on air in the middle of the night?
Whenever I switch on my TV there's trash and even if they call the trash documentary because its about a special topic like sextoys, germans dating women in Eastern Europe or another new fashionable building in Dubai, it all remains trash from my point of view. But what happens if I just roughly switch through the channels before I intended to go and sleep?
Yes, the real documentary starts.
Behind the scenes information about workers of the United Nations, journalists traveling through Mali to uncover what's going on with the Tuaregs there, and so on.
Topics which are not only interesting, they can also teach us to be more open minded instead of living in our small world with our small problems.
I'm keen to learn as much as possible about the whole world, see different cultures, lifestyles and traditions but it's hard to find it on TV.
Am I so unique or what's the reason for this? At least travel documentaries should be something which is interesting for the majority, shouldn't it. I can and will not believe that most persons live in such a small restricted world and are happy with what they can reach within a few hours. There's so much to discover on earth, so why should I limit myself and just stay where I am for my entire life. Isn't that boring?
I honestly think if more would be interested in learning this world would be a bit more open to others. As long as you don't want to learn why people are doing something you will never be able to understand. It's easy to judge from an outside position but stepping into depths is teaching you why traditions, cultures or habits are existent and how they influence whole countries or regions.
Stay open and faithful,
Miss Faith
