Curious or genuinely interested?

Curious or genuinely interested?

I would say the second applies to me but who is willing to admit that he or she is genuinely curious?
Whereas I would say either way isn't a bad way. It just shows that you still are interested in things outside of your own comfort zone. I'm for sure not loving everyone but that doesn't mean that I'm not interested. Sometimes it's the fascination or maybe even malicious joy and on other occasions it could be empathy, learning from others, thinking outside of the box.
As long as you are acting in a kind way no one will feel laughed at or not taken seriously so is no harm you're doing.
Humans in general are interesting and fascinating in many different ways. This whole big game of action and reaction is not only interesting for psychologists, no, it's even helpful to look at myself. Why are we doing what, why are we feeling served, disappointed, cheated on, etc. Many things just happen because we are thinking in the wrong way, about ourselves or about others. Why should a stranger think something about me, like e.g. "How is she walking" - there are two options why we think that, either we know we are walking quite different compared to others or we don't feel confident in walking which could have thousands of reasons. So who's problem is it, in the end ours. If we want to avoid these thoughts we have to work on ourselves. Work doesn't mean you have to change your style, it could as well just mean we don't care any more about what others may think.
So back to the topic, I love being curious as this is one of the free things in human learning. You don't have to pay a penny to learn from others behavior.

Be keen, enjoy life and grab as many input as you can get - it doesn't harm, it just shows us different options and we may adopt a few and neglect others and that's fine.

Faith in yourself is the greatest thing you can earn,
Miss Faith

What I Would Say To My 20-Year Old Self?

What I Would Say To My 20-Year Old Self?

Now obviously this won’t work if you’re younger than twenty (although feel free to change the age to suit), but what would you advise yourself if you could go back in time? What mistakes, errors, decisions and more would you change if given the chance? Would you change at all?
I read the question some time ago in a magazine and pinned it down to think about it. What would I advise and would I do it at all? Was my life exactly like I wanted it to be so far or were there major mistakes, times I regret totally?
If I'm honest it wasn't always like I wished it would have been - I don't know if there are really persons who could say everything was perfect at any time. But on the other hand, even if there were times I never wish back, they made me the person I am today. Don't we have to make mistakes to discover ourselves? I think we have to as otherwise we would never be able to judge for ourselves what's right and what's wrong. Learning never was easy, so why should growing up be?
If it comes to every single emotional experience it was important to live it and feel it, even if it was painfully sometimes.
But what about style and fashion? In this case I would say to my 20-Year old self not to try out curly short hair, never cut it too short as you will regret it for sure. These fat heels were never nice even if people want to tell you this right now, don't buy them! Ah, and nobody needs a fake diamond on a front tooth, it may be hip for some but you just ruin your tooth.
And what about drinks and food? Here I would have also a few recommendations. Never have too much Ouzo, believe me, you can't stand it and will end up drinking liters of plain water as if you crossed the desert. On the other hand you are always staying away from cinnamon, this doesn't make sense as it will take just a few more years until you will love it, so why not to give the yummy taste a try right now?
As you see, I may be able to recommend and give some hints and tips but only about kind of unimportant things in life. If it comes to the seriously important experiences, we all have to go through them on our own and I would rather regret to beware my 20-Year old self of one of them than giving her the back up that everything will be all right in the end.
The 35-Year old can assure to the 20-Year old that the next fifteen years won't be all fun and easy going but they are worth it to move forward and stand up whenever you feel that you were knocked down by life.

Good luck and cheers from Miss Faith

Sometimes I wish to live back in the 1970's or 80's

Sometimes I wish to live back in the 1970's or 80's
Don't understand me wrong, I'm not unhappy with my life but when it comes to certain points I would prefer these times. The time without mobile phones where we didn't had to be available 24/7, the time without emails where it wasn't expected to answer each "letter" within an hour. If you just think about the work-life balance everyone is talking about nowadays, I'm pretty sure people were much more relaxed.
Do we have constant life's?
What I see is that almost no one wants serious relationships as it was back then. We switch not only jobs, flats or cities within a short period of time, we also switch private connections instead of putting efforts in. The time where family and friends were counting more than social networking seems to be history. I have the impression that many just try to connect with other persons for their own needs.
Are we becoming more and more selfish nowadays?
I knew persons who started to bother when not receiving a reply on a short message within five minutes. Bother means after the text they started to call, to talk a message on your mobile box, sending a message on Facebook, checking if you are somewhere to be seen as 'online' for a chat message. And for what? Nothing special, just being bored or telling the newest gossips they heard somewhere.
Aren't we allowed anymore to disconnect for a while?
Also the newsfeed is overwhelming, people back in these years weren't aware of every single small catastrophe happening on the other side of the world. If I say small it doesn't mean it's awful for the persons being involved but honestly, even if I know something happened somewhere, I cannot change the whole world to be safe and good. Instead of bothering myself too much with bad news of a country I haven't a single relationship to I should start to change the part where I'm able to make efforts. I just told my husband a few days ago that I would become depressive if I would watch the news channel for too long.
On the other hand not everything is bad but we have to be careful on how to use all these connections we have, they shouldn't start to use us. Without the web I would never have met my husband and without world wide news I wouldn't be aware of what's going on in his country.
The biggest task for us now is to use it carefully, filter for the parts which are important to us and not to forget that there is a real life outside. Real people who may want to have us around, need us or just want to step by for a coffee to tell about their own personal important news.
And never forget that we are allowed to disconnect, mute mobile phones, shut down computers and turn of TVs whenever we think we need a time out for ourselves!
Stay yourself!
Faithfully...

Stopover of lives

Stopover of lives

How many ways of life did we encounter?
There are always "stopovers" of lives, paths crossing, staying for a while. Some are fading slowly, some are ending abruptly.
I recently thought about how many lives crossed mine already and how many I even remember. There were many but did they all left footprints which matter? No, as this is the circle of life. Sure there were a few not only leaving footprints, better to say that they left scars, wounds, life lessons learned and different marks. These were the ones really counting for what I am today. But there were also the others, short insignificant by chance encounters. They didn't hurt or let me stumble and fall. Most of them were funny or just nonsense, days or a few weeks where I experienced something in my life which wasn't directly connected to the persons I met.
Do we sometimes interpret too much into something which is quickly forgotten once its gone? I would say so as I honestly don't even remember some names. These were the stopovers that matter in a certain way for me maybe but not in a significant way. I feel confident that I remember names and places and times for all the important stopovers, the others may leave emotions, stories or a gain in experience but they will never be the stories you tell your grandchildren.
Most important are the current paths, the precious ones which you want to stay for a lifetime.
They are worth it to work on, to put efforts in and to cherish and value. But carefully, not all recognize them in the same way you do. Try your best to ensure that they are what you feel and that both parties are honestly caring for a lifetime stay. If not, believe me, they are not worth of existing in your life. Letting go is one of the hardest things in life but it will free your soul once you were able to decide for yourself. Sometimes we realize it months or years later but as long as we see it one day it wasn't wrong. These are the so-called lessons learned in life and also the way of exploring the sense of stopovers. Every path has a sense, positive as well as negative, and we should learn decide for ourselves what's wrong or right. We only have this one life, so live it to the fullest, don't regret, try your best to give it the sense it deserves!
Faithfully, yours Miss Faith

Somebody Has to Say It...

Somebody Has to Say It...

Wintertime sucks! Days are short and mostly dark, I'm freezing as soon as I step out of my door, sunlight is missed so much and streets are empty as almost everyone is hurrying to get into a warm place again. Even singing birds are something I miss during wintertime.
The worst is that the last three weeks were completely grey, cloudy and rainy. I had to turn on the lights already in the morning. I'm not tanned, the German white skin, but I'm honestly a summer type if you judge from my mood state. As soon as the sun is shining, birds are singing in the morning and a warm breeze is waking me up I'm in a good mood. Which type are you? Summer or winter or are there even more, like maybe the depressive autumn type or the ever happy spring type?
Yours Miss Faith, waiting desperately for the first signs of spring...

Facebook status

Facebook status

Am I on Facebook?
Sure I am as several others, or let me say I hardly know persons who aren't.
Why is Facebook not showing up on my blog then?
I mean, I'm just writing about it but there is no possibility to follow me on Facebook.
You want the truth?
My Facebook is my private fun.
A network where I'm connected with friends, family members and colleagues and it was hard to separate them into groups with restricted views on my profile.
I'm not shy or prude but I don't believe that my colleagues need to have access to my latest holiday pics or need to know where I was exactly at which time where on the other hand my friends are allowed to see it.
I'm happy when friends just pop up in the same location as they have seen my status on Facebook. It's also a nice way to stay in touch with friends or family spread all over the world.
Even now when I'm in the situation that the whole family of my husband is living in Libya I love to have a network like this.
Just yesterday my husband became a proud uncle of a little girl for the first time and the cutie was shown in our private family circle.
You see, this is internal stuff for myself on Facebook and that's why I haven't linked it to this blog.
My plan for the future is to have a public Miss Faith profile.
But this needs to be set up in a professional way and I honestly didn't found the time yet to start working it out. Stay tuned, as soon as its online I will let you know for sure!
Now back to the private account.
What I recently discovered is that Facebook is asking its members directly how they feel, what they think or where they are.
Does they mean they care - I would rather say they want even more information from users.
Some are serving them well already nowadays or would you put in your status that you are just on your way to hospital for giving birth?
Not me, that's a no-go from my point of view. Even if we are all and everywhere online and connected there should still remain some privacy.
As Facebook isn't that easy to handle in regards to privacy I just post stuff where I would have no problem if strangers may see it. Means not posting almost naked pictures or status updates which carry my deepest emotions. Break ups are often posted and what for? Should my friends be sorry for me or back bite my then ex-boyfriend? If I want to share these stories with a good friend I pick up the phone and dial his or her number.
Preferred by me are updates like favorite songs, favorite quotes, some funny pics from time to time or congrats to whatever. I can show my new bought couch to my family who is not living directly around the corner or send my husband snowy pictures from Germany to Libya.
What are your favorite status updates and what would you never write on a social network page?
Let me know your "random" thoughts.
Yours Miss Faith
P.S.: the pic is my status on New Year's Day ;-)

How should women be in 2013?

How should women be in 2013?

If you just look around you on a normal day and listen to what media and magazines think women should be like I'm pretty sure that this is nothing a woman could fulfill.
We first of all have to be dressed perfectly and stylish and take care of our body. Undone hair is a no go unless it's just the newest trend and en vogue. Besides we also need to be successful in our full time job and raise children as if we always were mothers. Next to us the perfect husband, successful too and a loving father. Problems are nonexistent, or let me say if there are some then just because the personal trainer had to cancel a session or the flights are delayed. We handle all with a smile on our face and bad mood, what is that?
We shouldn't be too cute but also not too sexy. Our sense of humor shouldn't be completely funny, that's too boyish nor completely serious, it could mean we tend to be boring. We should act mainstream but think forth going, thinking over the edge.
Please tell me how should this be possible?
A few tips I agree on like never talk about the men of your past - nobody wants to be compared and you shouldn't compare either - something new means you open a new chapter in your life and the past belongs to the past. That's true but nevertheless we only are what we are because of past experiences but I agree on don't giving them names or details.
Ups, and we have to be skinny but healthy, this may work for a few but for sure not for all. I'm not the person who wants to be high sized and fortunately can eat whatever without gaining weight but honestly, what means skinny? Only skin and bones looks unhealthy from my point of view and women should have a shape. So please eat! Women are humans also and who can live without food? Food is pleasure...at least for me!
In regards to fashion I wouldn't go completely with the newest fashion pieces as no one except of models can wear these combinations. Have you ever seen an average woman who can wear the pieces presented on fashion show stages without looking ridiculous, bitchy or undressed?
I found another tip where I also agree on. Accept the child in you - life is serious enough so acting goofy is essential from time to time.
But careful because when it comes to what we should be like we have to hide our next steps - nothing is more boring than persons where you exactly know what they will do next. For instance being goofy.
What would be my on tip of how women should be in 2013?
The main points from my point of view are the following:
- be yourself and don't try to please others
- take care of yourself
- be truthfully, reliable and honest
- love
- have fun
- live every moment
Be faithful, cherish what you have and love life like it is!

Miss Faith

It's you!

You are the one counting!
